Education is the key to success

Mimsi has developed an educational curriculum designed to upskill community members to join the Mimsi team in the field. It is called M.A.P.P.S., standing for “Modeling Access to Prenatal & Postpartum Services."

These are educational programs that permit virtually anyone in impoverished communities to participate in vital delivery of prenatal and postpartum services to pregnant women living in the last mile.

Leadership and Accountability

All staff members of Mimsi’s mobile pregnancy clinic are initiated into the organization through this program, which provides them skills to to identify high-risk pregnancies.

Community members–mostly young women between 19-25–are selected into the program.

Students learn about women’s reproductive health and pregnancy.

Students go on mobile pregnancy clinic to apply new knowledge in interviewing pregnant women and assessing their health.

Students take certification exam to pass and become prenatal care providers.

Postpartum Care Provider Training Program is designed to enable staff to advocate for best practices in the postpartum period are initiated into the organization through this program that provides them skills to be impactful in the clinic.

Students learn how to interview mothers during postpartum health assessment and contraceptive care.

Students reach out into the community and bring postpartum services including lactation consulting and contraceptive care to Mimsi patients.
